The Association held the annual Dashain and Dipawali celebration on Sunday, 28th October 2012 in Manchester. Members enjoyed delicious Nepalese food provided by Raj Kumar and Sophie Shrestha from Himalayan Restaurant, Stockport Road, Manchester.
During the celebration, Suresh Shrestha, Gopal Basnet, Deepa Shrestha, Srijana Thapa and Kamali Adhikari performed beautiful Nepalese dances, and Nirmal Karki, Sudin Sapakota and Pranesh Rana entertained those who attended the event with their wonderful Nepalese music.
In addition, as part of the event, the Nepalese pandit Tara Niraula offered tika to those who wished to have Dashain tika and jamara on occasion of Dashain.
The Association would like to express its thanks Gopal Dangol (Great Kathamandu Restaurant, Burton Road, Manchester), Buddhi Ram Shrestha (Jay Kathmandu Restaurant, Palatine Road, Manchester), Rajendra Basnet (Gurkha Grill Restaurant, Burton Road, Manchester), Chandra KC (Namaste Nepal Restaurant, Burton Road, Manchester), Singh Raj Shrestha (Gurkha tandoori Restaurant, Swinton) Raj Kumar Shrestha (Himalaya Restauarant, Stockport Road, Manchester) and Gopal Mohan Dangol (Kathmandu Restaurant, Stockport Road, Stockport) for sponsoring the raffle prizes, which included a meal for two at their restaurants.
The Association would also like to extend its thanks to Parbuty Dangol Rana for raising funds by organising the sale of the raffle tickets.
